Bob Costas Refuses to Host CNN Show About Natalee Holloway
NEW YORK The story of a missing Alabama teenager in Aruba had C-N-N searching for a plan-’C’ last night.
Bob Costas—the occasional fill-in on the network’s “Larry King Live”—refused to anchor last night’s show because it was primarily about the search for Natalee Holloway.Costas has released a statement saying that he suggested alternatives for the show, but that “producers preferred the topics they had chosen.” His manager would not say what Costas didn’t like about the topic.
The show’s senior executive producer says that Costas was uncomfortable with the subject matter, and that the decision was mutual because of that.
Chris Pixley had to fill in at the last minute on a show where seven of the ten guests talked about the missing girl.

Bob Costas passed on doing another show in an endless string of Natalee Holloway shows that offer everything but facts and evidence.
Bob Costas specializes in interviewing and covering celebrities, sports superstars, pop culture icons and politics.
Natalee Holloways’ case is none of the above.
This is not Bob Costas fault as much as it was the shows producers. They could have called Adam Walsh to pinch hit for Larry King. He has first hand experience and tremendous knowledge of missing persons and true crime in general. But they did not. The producers screwed up.
Could you imagine Walter Kronkite covering a Brittany Spears and Jessica Simpson concert tour?
It’s just not his bag.
Nothing more and nothing less

To whomever posted that last comment, it is JOHN Walsh, NOT Adam Walsh. Adam was John’s son who was abducted and murdered 25 years ago. Get your facts straight before posting.
Besides that, I agree with you. The Larry King producers SHOULD have had someone like John Walsh do that show, NOT Bob Costas (who is the worst host/interviewer in American history).
