Arubans Want to Interview Americans
Aruban officials have asked the United States for help questioning potential witnesses in the case of missing Mountain Brook teen Natalee Holloway, the country’s prosecutor’s office said Friday. The statement came just a day after Holloway’s mother urged Aruba to remove three law-enforcement officials from the case, saying they ignored leads and failed to take her daughter’s disappearance seriously. Holloway, 18, was last seen May 30 on a graduation trip to the Caribbean island.
In Friday’s news release, the prosecutor’s office said the investigative team had reviewed the entire case and homed in on areas that “need more attention.”
For instance there are people living in the United States of America who have to be interviewed again, this time more profoundly,” the release reads. “To realize this, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has petitioned the United States of America for legal assistance.”
