Poll: Most in State Support Boycott
MONTGOMERY—Three-quarters of Alabamians back Gov. Bob Riley’s call for an American travel boycott of Aruba following Mountain Brook teenager Natalee Holloway’s disappearance, the results of a new statewide survey suggest. The Mobile Register-University of South Alabama poll also found that about seven out of 10 respondents would not travel to the Caribbean island even if they won a free trip.
Riley announced the boycott earlier this month as a protest of Aruban officials’ alleged mishandling of the missing teen’s case.
