Awareness Campaign for Natalee - New Orleans, LA

Below is an except of the post that Jamie, a BFN Moderator, made in the forum. Thanks to Jamie, Grass and Karo (from SM) for doing your part in making sure that Natalee is remembered.

From Jamie:

This was to remind people that Natalee is still missing and to those who have never heard about Natalee…to tell what has happened.

Fortunately…only a hand full of people had never heard about Natalee’s disappearance. Most of the others, came to us after seeing the signs and banners to ask about what is going on with the investigation. IMO, if there are some here that don’t want people reminded that Natalee is still missing…you may want to re-think why you are here in the first place. People need to be reminded about this and we must keep her name and story out there! Just like other families of missing children and adults that are missing. I went to New Orleans to be a voice for Natalee and I honestly think that the why the 2 others went!

Grass†, Karo (from SM) and myself… did this out of love and support for Natalee and her family…her whole family. We did this on our own time and most of our money. Yes, we did receive donations from some and that helped tremendously! Keep in mind that to print 200 brochures cost $194.00. That is where most of the donations went to. grass† paid for his own plane ticket, hotel room and Karo and I paid for our own gas money. The timeshare was donated by our own member…kpp007…I paid for my own valet parking of $10.00 per day which was required to stay there. The donations went for our food and garage parking. None of the money went for personal use. Receipts were kept and shared between the 3 of us… so that all of us were aware of where any money went. I don’t really think that is necessary for all of you to know but I don’t want any of you to think… that this was a pleasure trip for us. BTW, there was $12.00 left over… so if anyone doesn’t have an objection, I will keep it towards some of my gas expense. I may even use it to buy my sister a little something… for the donations of the signs and banners, she made for the Miami show… that we also used for this one.

I want to thank and acknowledge those that did make donations to help us. Angela…your “usual amount” LOL Queen Of Denmark, Jake…you are a sweetie…amazing what is in a name, huh? lousw…you are a rock of this forum and buttafly AND grass†...you still continue to support, no matter who goes where… supporting Natalee.

I also want to thank Karo, msmarple, oldfart and Indy Dan from Scared Monkeys.

I also want to thank Richard for helping to make the contacts between all of us, possible! Thank you for your dedication to Natalee and her family in seeking the truth and answers for them.

Thanks to all of you that offered your well wishes and support. It was so appreciated by all of us. I am so sorry to those that thought they could have attended but couldn’t for various reasons. Your intentions were good but is understood that you couldn’t make it. I do encourage any of you… in the future, If need be…to try very hard to make the next one. Your heart will be fulfilled with the experience you receive from doing this. If you take a stand and do this for Natalee, you will never regret it and I promise it will change your life forever…just knowing you did this for Natalee. She herself… has brought so many people together and friendships have been formed… because of her, that would have never been made before. grass† is awesome…karo and I have so much in common…she is exactly one week “older” then me and we have other “quinkydinks” surrounding our lives. We all felt as if we have known each other for years. They both have tremendous hearts… full of love and dedication for Natalee…just like so many other people here!

Grass† and I did not have Internet accessibility while we were there… and that is why Karo made her post and pictures while we were there. Since she actually lives in the vicinity she was able to go home and make the post for all to see before grass† and I could get home to make ours… I hope you all have had the chance to go to SM and catch the post and pictures she has posted. Thanks Karo!

IF you have gone and read her post, you know that we ran into maybe 6 couples of families that are from Birmingham and Mountain Brook. I guess the most special response that I received was from this one lady who was walking down the sidewalk. When I tried to give them a brochure and talk about Natalee, the husband held up his hand and said “no” and they keep walking…she turned around, came back to me… and said “you know…I will take one of those.” Riding around the French Quarter with signs on the back of the “mule” driven carriages, was also great! I credit that idea to Grass†. He talked to a lady that owned 3 carriages and she did not have a problem with putting them on them. There is just so much love for Natalee, in New Orleans, also! Thank goodness that area is finally getting back in working order. It is starting to thrive again!
