Blogs for Natalee

Natalee has now been missing for 40 long months. The world has been waiting, hoping, praying, and looking for the answers that would tell us where Natalee may be so that she may be found and returned to where she belongs.

We say that we hurt and feel as bad as do those who know and love her, but we will never know just exactly how that hurt really feels. We speak our thoughts as we would feel if it was our daughter, but unless we have been there and experienced something as terrible as this, there is no way we can truly understand just how completely devastating it must be. We do not have to go to bed each and every night after a long and painful day of unknowing, asking God to help us prepare for another day, and hope that tomorrow will not be like the day before. But, this has been the life of Natalee’s family members now for 1,220 days.

Unless we have been in a situation such as this, we have not had to experience the not hearing a soft and familiar voice – we have not had to experience the longing for a warm and loving embrace, not seeing the sparkle of beautiful blue eyes or the smile from a loving daughter. There are some here, though, that have been or are in this situation and they can relate to what life is like and continues to be when there is resolution.

We have been together here for all this time in support of Natalee, her families and her friends. We have been through so many times when we thought the answers would be brought forth and then we were so disappointed when nothing came to fruition. We know that there are truths to be revealed because someone knows the truth and we know that Natalee is out there somewhere waiting to be found and returned home.

Life must go on, but there are still many of us who are committed to Natalee and all her family members and we will continue to do what we can to hopefully, some day, find the answers – and Natalee – so that she may be brought home.
